A very earth-conscious firm that supplies herbal remedy solutions and health supplement products, Astronutrition.com, is donating at least one percent of its gross annual revenues to One Percent for the Planet for environmental sustainability initiatives.

“AstroNutrition recognizes we are facing a critical and potentially disastrous time and need to restore our planet back to health,” said Chester Ku-Lea, Founder and President of the company. “We need to make business decisions that include the health of our planet. We no longer have the luxury of only thinking in terms of individual profit, we need to give what we can in order to ensure a healthy world for our grandchildren and their grandchildren.”  

One Percent for the Planet is a non-profit organization whose members include some of the biggest names in business. They fund support organizations actively working to protect our global environment.

“We are in a very unique situation today facing issues such as global warming, and this is due in part to businesses making poor, selfish decisions in the past,” says Ku-Lea. “We are learning that those decisions are now threatening our very existence. We can turn this around and make positive changes if every business and individual becomes more aware of these issues.

” One Percent for the Planet, which began in 2001, donated over $12 million towards environmental initiatives since its inception. Starting with 211 members in 2005, it grew to over 500 members in 2007. Mr. Ku-Lea further explains, “We are proud to be working with an organization with integrity and focus. One Percent for the Planet is very effective in bringing about awareness and change on important environmental issues, and they have the infrastructure in place to make a significant difference. We believe our contribution will go a long way.”
